About me

I am a PostDoctoral Associate at the University of Colorado - Boulder under the advisement of Dr. Laura Dee. I grew up in Wisconsin and earned my B.S. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of Minnesota. After my undergraduate studies I worked at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve, collecting data on the BioCON project and working as a prescribed burn technician. I completed my PhD at the University of New Mexico with Dr. Scott Collins along with a postdoctoral position at Colorado State University with Dr. Melinda Smith.

Research interests of mine include ecology and plant community composition and its interaction with climate. My research primarily focuses on aridlands including arid grasslands and the hot deserts of North America. I study plant community and ecosystem function from the physiological to ecosystem level with a strong base in community ecology.
